Visit Tutira Regional Park with Tour Napier. The park is nestled under steep, dramatic hills approximately 40 mins drive from Napier and borders twin lakes - Tutira and Waikopiro.

Lake Tutira was designated a bird sanctuary in the 1920s and provides ideal conditions to see black swans, cormorants, fantails and many more wild birds. There is an easy short walk around the lake via the footpaths provided as well as lakeside picnic tables for visitors. Trout fishing is permitted as a stream flows into its northern reaches.

For centuries Māori seasonally lived by Lake Tūtira and you can see the remains of six pa sites. The Tutira Walkway ascends to the Table Mountain trig station for stunning views over Hawkes Bay and takes about five hours to complete.
